Rift Live Datamining – We’re… back? what?

This is a record that will take forever to break again. Rift’s last actual patch was May 4th, 2022. Today is June 17th, 2025. After consulting google to math things out, that is 1,140 days since a Rift update. We don’t know the timing for when this patch will go live, but it is ready in Rift’s patch staging servers. As is the norm for The Ghar Station, it is time to dive back in and see what is actually here.

UPDATE! I’ve been informed by the current Rift CM on discord that this patch is planned to go live on June 24th.

As always, you can join in the discussion of Rift on both The Ghar Station Discord and on the Rift focused Heroes of Telara Discord.  Please follow us on BlueSky @TheGharStation and discuss on The Ghar Station Forums. We are also on Patreon!

Summerfest Returns

Datamining reveals the new dates for Summerfest 2025: July 2nd – July 30th.

With a client patch, we also have 4 hour minion missions activated for Summerfest this year!

New Mount

A new mount appears, the “Riftbound Ursin”. Curiously this one has the single largest texture for a mount in Rift at 2844×2844 pixels. That is simply ENORMOUS for Rift.

New Store banner

It’s both literally new, and it has the word “new” in it. Consistent with other store banners for the in-game store.

Client updates

The Rift client has also been updated, hopefully this indicates potential bug fixes, but we will not know until Gamigo releases actual patch notes when this goes live. Curiously, it does appear that a link to the official Rift discord may be included in the game client. Hopefully some of the older social media integrations have been removed since they do not work anymore.

One curious note is a change in how some of the world geometry files and textures are named. The staged patch has changed a lot of these, seemingly for every chunk of the main world that exists today. This may be an attempt to address the geometry not loading bug that is a common problem for new players.

That’s all for today, time will tell if 1,140 days is a new record, or if Gamigo can somehow match it once again. Time will tell.
